4 Things To Do In Thailand

15:36:00

As the first-timer visiting Bangkok, Thailand - I thought there will be the same as Jakarta, the heat, crowd and traffic jam everywhere. The reality is noooo. Even though there might be a little traffic here and there, but its way better than Jakarta since they got BTS (Bangkok SkyTrain) in every main spots. That really helps to save time and make the travel a lot easier!

You could also take any transportations in your preference, there got BTS, taxi, bus, and tuk-tuk. Short story, I took the tuk tuk few times, but honestly they costs even more expensive than BTS or taxi. So its better to take BTS if you travel 1-2 people, or taxi if you travel 1-4 people cause its way cheaper (try not to take taxi in peak hours, cause they will charge without meters).

Another thing that is different, of course the language. Its totally different, but don't worry cause most of them could understand English, even just a bit. Or you could find security/policeman along the street who are for sure could understand and speak English.

I just got back couple days ago, still missing the days in Bangkok. But now its time to move on, and here are the highlight of my five days travelling to Thailand, including the foods, shopping, temples, and other nice place to take pictures.

1. FOODS

First thing that I love about Bangkok is the FOODS, especially street foods. Apart from the price is very very low, in the range 20-70 Baht (8.000-40.000 Rupiah) I could get - from a full cup of thai tea, toasts, fresh seafoods, pad thai, to generous amount of pineapple fried rice, they were all sooo delicious. You might easily found the street food everywhere in the morning or nighttime along the road, or simply visit the biggest market in Asia - Chatuchak Market (Weekend) and Chatuchak Green (Friday Night) for more ranges of street food.

During my visit to Bangkok this time, I didn't actually try the foods in the restaurant cause most of my time spent for shopping and taking pictures :(

If anyone of you have visited Bangkok, kindly share your favorite dishes to eat in Bangkok, right in the comment box below. Will come back to try 'em all!!

2. SHOPPING

Another thing you shouldn't be leaving Bangkok without is SHOPPING MARATHON. You could get a good quality of fashion items from clothing, bags, shoes, accessories, etc - with ridiculously good deal, mostly in the range 100-300 Baht (40.000 - 120.000 Rupiah). Recommended place to visit including Pratunam Morning Market, Platinum Mall, Chatuchak Market.

3. TEMPLE

While in Bangkok, don't forget to visit the most beautiful Buddhist temples, Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn). You could reach there by shuttle boat crossing Chao Praya River from BTS Saphan Taksin, or get there by bus/taxi straight to Wat Arun. The ticket to enter Wat Arun is 50 Baht (20.000 Rupiah), after that you could walk further to Wat Pho which is located just beside Wat Arun.

When its late in the afternoon, take the last boat to Asiatique and enjoy your dinner there while shopping around. And don't forget to try Mango Tango, its the dessert cafe in Asiatique (another branch at Siam Square) that serves all about mango, from mango sticky rice, mango ice cream, mango pudding, etc. Nyammm, I'm craving for Mango Tango right now!

4. THEME PARK

Last but not least, apart from busy days in the city, you could take a short trip to Cha Am, visit Santorini Park and Swiss Sheep Farm to get a nice pictures. Reach there by mini van from Mo Chit Station and spend about 160 Baht (60.000 Rupiah) for one trip (3 hours). Once arrived, I took a cab to Santorini Park - Swiss Sheep Farm - back to terminal station and spent about 500 Baht (200.000 Rupiah). Even though this would be very hectic trip, but seriously the view is really worth it.

I guess thats all to round up my short trip to Thailand. Hopefully this could be helpful for those of you who planned to fly there in the meantime. Feel free to hit me some comments if you want to know more about the places to visit, eat, or just overall budget to spend there.

Will be posting more about my Thailand trip on my next post.

[EVENT REPORT] SK-II CNY Phoenix Suminagashi Party

00:19:00

First I want to apologize for the delay event updates :( but you can always catch me up on Instagram. But now I'm overly excited to share my latest event with SK-II, YESSS because I LOVE SK-II. Many thanks to Clozette Indonesia and SK-II Indonesia for having me at the event with the clozetters and SK-II brand ambassador, Susan Bachtiar and Dominique Diyose.

The event was all about celebrating the upcoming Chinese New Year with the new face of SK-II FTE CNY limited edition - PHOENIX SUMINAGASHI. Why phoenix? Cause we all believe phoenix represents the reborn and good start to be a better person, or generally better in everything we do. So, this might be a good present if you are looking for good CNY gifts. Since you are not only giving the most favorite skincare SK-II FTE, but also best wishes from the phoenix suminagashi art in a bottle. Such a thoughtful gift indeed!

Let's move on to the event. As you can see; the venue, settings, as well as the guests - all wrapped in red for SK-II CNY Phoenix Suminagashi Party. The event started as SK-II brand ambassador, Susan Bachtiar and Dominique Diyose shared their skincare routine with SK-II, how SK-II helped to dehydrate their skin even in their busiest and rough day.

Luckily I got a chance to try SK-II skincare by myself right on the spot, and I can't agree enough SK-II Facial Treatment Essence is really gewddd! I don't even need any make up to put on top of it, cause it leaves my skin dewy and smooth just like baby butt.

Last but not least, I would really love to review the products that I got from SK-II on my next post - including SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, Clear Lotion and Facial Treatment Mask.
So, stay tune!

XOXO, Tiff

Sunday Lunch at Gastromaquia

01:39:00

Spent my Sunday afternoon at Gastromaquia in Senopati area. I have been here couple times, and always loving its overall ambiance. This time, I'm so happy to be back again and of course gonna left some review since I got a voucher worth IDR 500K for foods and beverages from Clozette Indonesia. I brought my boyfriend and my brother along, to help me reviewing and finishing up the dishes. Well, my boyfriend is really good at reviewing foods, while my brother is good at finishing up the dishes. And me? Just wanna chill and eat eat eatttt, hahaha.

We reached there around 12AM. When we go in, the waiters were greeting us warmly and lead us to our table at the first floor. Then we started to order the foods and beverages, with some guide and recommendation from the waiter herself. She explained the menus very well, and I just known that Gastromaquia Restaurant serves Spanish cuisines with special menus, recipes, and few ingredients originally from Madrid. So we ends up ordered chamomile tea and lychee tea for the drinks, and the foods were galitician octopus, garlic butter prawn, garlic noodle, and stuffed chicken with beef bacon and date.

While waiting for our foods to be served, its time to stroll around this restaurant. From the outside, you will found Gastromaquia in a small road next to Senopati Street, exactly at Cineru Street. The building is actually noticeable, its the two-stories Victorian design house in monocrome color scheme. From the outside, this restaurant may looks old and classic at the same time. But the interior looks clean, minimalist and bright, even brighter at the second floor, cause it has high-ceiling and open air balcony. Not forget to mention, this place has a lot of greens surrounding, makes this place more aesthetic and Insta-genic!

Actually there's something that catch my eyes once I go inside this restaurant. Guess what? No... Its not the food, hehe. Its the unique furnishing that goes along the first floor to second floor, spotted the kitchen utensils were nicely transformed into a clock, wall decoration, and lighting.

In less than 15 minutes, our foods and beverages were served very well. All of it looks so yummy! I couldn't wait to eat, but first.. We have to shot it properly.

LYCHEE TEA, IDR 35K
The first menu that comes, of course the beverages. Ordered this lychee tea, cause it sounds so refreshing and sweet. And yasss its definitely very refreshing, not too sweet for me, and the amount of lychee is very generous. Love it!

CHAMOMILE TEA, IDR 35K
What you could expect in a cup of chamomile tea? hahaha, but the cup is very unique though.

GALITICIAN OCTOPUS, IDR 80K
Now here comes the appetizer of the day. Actually, octopus isn't my kind of food-to-order cause I never like the texture of octopus that somehow hard to chew. But this galitician octopus at Gastromaquia has proven me wrong! The octopus meat is very soft when its warm, and the taste mixed well with the sauce made by foamed potato and melted cheese.

GARLIC BUTTER PRAWN, IDR 95K
Honestly, this is my favorite ones! The prawn is sooo tender and flavourful from the garlic, butter and chopped tomato. Also best eaten with the garlic bread.

GARLIC NOODLE, IDR 45K
Actually I didn't expect this garlic noodle gonna looks literally like 'bakmi' (Chinese noodle). Hmm, maybe because this menu were categorised under Asian menu. You might curious is it tastes exactly like 'bakmi'? .... Dang! It might looks plain and simple, but it tasted good. The garlic, butter and herbs were combined well to make this tasty garlic noodle.

STUFFED CHICKEN WITH BEEF BACON AND DATE, IDR 95K
This is one of the recommended menu in Gastromaquia, and it takes about 20 minutes to be served. But its definitely worth to wait, the chicken is very tender, stuffed with beef bacon and date. What makes the dish special is because the date is actually imported from Madrid, it really soft and sweet. Its successfully making the overall taste extra special from the unique combination of savoury and sweet.

If you haven't got a plan this weekend, don't forget to drop by Gastromaquia Restaurant and try one of the menu above. Or if you have visited and tried their menu, let me know which one is your favorite? :)
